On the Move

Two great running findings this week. Good to see resources available for everyone.
On the Run, a blog about the New York City Marathon. The Marathon this year is on November 7 and will have about 43,000 runners. So looking forward to it!
A Running Start, a free online coaching resource developed by New York Road Runners [...]

Sea of Change

Here I am, thinking of tomorrow’s NYRR New York Mini 10K. My first “big” race after baby. Feeling excited. I ran this race in 2008 and the experience was awesome. This is a women only race and it is truly amazing to see a sea of women running in

From the Moment I Wake, to the Moment I Sleep

I’m glad to be back after a couple of weeks of too much happening at the same time. Here are some new discoveries that kept me balanced during busy days.
To begin a yoga practice at home, I got the podcast Jason Crandell. Each practice is twenty minutes and Crandell is such an excellent teacher. The [...]

Life’s Secret

The last couple of weeks have been filled with beauty. Labor Day weekend with family in town, Komen’s New York City Race for the Cure. It was such a special day, Central Park was covered in pink!
I’m currently reading the book, Tarahumara Indians of Mexico’s Copper Canyon, which are considered the greatest distance runners [...]

Peaceful Warrior

This morning was perfect for a run. I quietly changed, picked my iPod, running watch and took a last look at my sleeping boys — they both looked so beautiful and peaceful.
I was sleepy too and left my sleepiness guide me through the streets of Brooklyn. I set my iPod to shuffle songs. The [...]

Summer Days

It’s been a busy August — my sewing machine is finally ready, I’ve been drawing a bit, and just started to work on a new and updated website/blog among many other things.

Shine Together

Eating fresh fruit, parks, beach, running, yoga, reading, sewing, drawing…
The list of things I would like to enjoy during these warm months is way too long. Sure I can do some of these things during the cold months, but the energy that the sun brings in the summer is unique.
I don’t know how it [...]

Flux

I’ve been active thinking of new projects, designing a new website/blog, and beginning to take my running and yoga practice to the next level.
My mind and body were ready for a little stir up so last week I found myself running at lunch time in Tangled Alphabets: León Ferrari and Mira Schendel at Ernesto [...]

Viva la Vida

This morning I ran the Achilles Hope & Possibility 5M, an event full of encouragement and celebration. It’s held in Central Park by the Achilles Track Club. Achilles is an international organization whose mission is to “enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics, to promote personal achievement, enhanced self esteem, [...]

Stir It Up

I still remember the day I decided to sign up for a 5K in Central Park. I didn’t know what to expect, but wanted to know how it felt to be part of a running event. The race was in the spring, but on that day, it was raining and cold! After the race, I [...]
