I have this EARTH sticker in my office and really enjoy looking at it. It’s so clever and nicely designed. It was created by painter and sculptor Philip Krohn. The great thing is that all proceeds go to organizations that protect biodiversity and wilderness.

I’m currently working on an installation and found myself asking questions about non-toxic materials at the art supply store. We all want to help the environment, but the challenge is how to incorporate the change without compromising our work.

Knowledge and practice creates change. The key to make changes in our studios is to keep it simple. Start by asking questions, exchanging materials with other artists and recycling. Tiny adjustments make huge differences.

Runners often say that taking the first step is always the hardest part. But once you start, everything becomes a lot easier. I think the best piece of art and legacy we can leave, is a beautiful, healthy and inspiring place for future generations.
