My morning began cross-training at the gym which means I ran yesterday and there was no yoga class. I was energized (=anxious) by thinking about the amount of people I would see in my office today. I started my workout with a smile in the rowing machine. I moved to lift weights and started loosing my smile a little. I finished my workout with abs and at that moment, I lost my smile completely, but couldn’t stop moving. I suddenly realized the roller coaster ride was about to begin at work. It is back to school…I’m going to be so sore tomorrow!
The art season begins this week as well. There are so many exhibitions and events. I am moving a hundred miles an hour trying to make sense at work, installing my work for upcoming exhibitions, and thinking about what I am going to say on my first event of the week.
I will be participating in an informal Artists’ Talk at Pratt Manhattan Gallery this Thursday. The talk is part of the exhibition Four Artists: Work by Recent Alumni, Fay Ku, Rossana Martinez, Jean Shin, Swoon. The artists were selected by Eugenie Tsai, Director of Curatorial Affairs at P.S.1. It is also the first time I exhibit with my friend Jean Shin. We studied at Pratt at the same time and I simply love her work. I feel so honored to be part of this exhibition!
Everything is in motion. It is impossible to see or do it all, but if you are in the neighborhood, please stop by and say hi. I will try to do my best talking about my work – I get shy at this type of event. And good luck to all with your exhibitions, I wish they are successful, positive and fun!
