My new works/performances are about body movement influenced by my running and yoga practice. The movements are simple, the performances are quiet – no theater sets, costumes or audience. I am interested in the simple moments/actions that sometimes we don’t notice, but are the most valuable. I see the works – and hope viewers too – like a sweet word whispered in one’s ear or a sweet smile.

Fly Straight Into My Heart will be part of the exhibition Breaking the White Light. The exhibition opens next month at Platform in Chelsea, and is curated by Scott Malbaurn. Scott is a great person, artist and curator. I met Scott at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. After I finished my MFA at Pratt, I worked as the library’s slide curator. Scott was a graduate assistant at the circulation desk. It is great to see people from my community at Pratt doing well and especially doing what they love. Thanks Scott for thinking of my work and for including me in the exhibition!
